I was 15. The daughter of a blacksmith. My mother had died of scarlet fever when I was young. I never knew her, but I was told I inherited her beauty. My life was boring and I wanted some excitement. My curiosity was the one thing that always got me in trouble, so I tried to use it to my advantage. Yet no excitement arose. That is, until a vampire entered into my life. That fateful night I had gone out for an evening walk. I came upon a man who seemed to be in a sorrowful mood. He was beautiful. Skin as pale as freshly fallen snow and eyes as blue as crystal. His hair raven colored, so smooth looking I could almost feel the softness. I walked up to him and smiled gently. "Good evening, Monsieur." I greeted him. "Might I join you on your stroll?" He eyed me like an animal eyes it's prey, and I had the sudden urge to run. I felt he was dangerous, but my curiosity got the best of me. This man was mysterious and charming. It was almost as though an invisible force drew me to him. "Yes child." He replied. "I would very much enjoy your company." I curtsied and we began walking side by side. We walked in complete silence. I, being lost in thought, was unaware of where he was leading me and soon found myself in an alleyway. My blood ran cold and I had a sinking feeling in my stomach. I turned to the man to find he wasn't there. There was a presence behind me and I suddenly felt fangs in my neck. I let out a strangled scream. I could feel the blood that coursed through my veins slowly being drained. My began to fade and my breathing became slow. After what seemed like eternity, he finished his meal seeming satisfied. I, barely conscious, thought it was over. But I was sadly mistaken. He bit his wrist and forced me to drink his blood. I then felt pain and myself change. My amber hair became soft and wavy, mouth grew fangs. I saw the world in a knew light and craved something I never thought I would ever crave. Blood. I sat up and looked at him. "What did you do to me?" "My name is Louis De Pointe Du Lac." He said helping me to my feet. "All will be explained in time Belle." Those mysterious words stuck with me, feeding my curiosity. But I eventually would have to find the answers all on my own. Chapter 2 When I first met Lestat I thought he was a thing of beauty. He was so beautiful, it was as though he was sculpted by an angels hand. I was only 15 and yet I was smitten with a man much older than I. Louis did everything in his power to keep me from Lestat at first. But eventually he saw it was futile. Lestat seemed pleased to see that I wanted to be around him, and doted on me endlessly. Though it wasn't the gifts that I wanted, just being around the beautiful Vampire made me ecstatic. All I wanted was to be around him. I enjoyed being a vampire. The nights were beautiful and my new appearance was breath taking. It was the act of drinking blood that churned my stomach. It was cruel, but it was how I had to survive. It wasn't long before I learned of Ayin. I learned of how Lestat had personally turned her, and of his love for her. I found myself filled with jealousy for someone I never knew. It was a rainy night, Lestat and Louis left me at home. I had begun to get restless, I craved excitement. So I snuck into Louis's room, hoping to find some secrets. I searched and found an old diary. It belonged to her, Ayin McClain. I had the urge to rip it to pieces. Why did Louis have this? Did Lestat know? How come they didn't just go see her? Flipping threw the dusty thing, I found a place where a page had been torn out and searched for it. I came up with nothing. I went back to looking through her dairy. I came upon the last page and what I read astounded me. "She's dead..." I whispered to myself. I felt guilt well up in my stomach. I hated a dead person. How could I? Was I that consumed by jealousy? And yet I seemed to miss her. Though I never knew her, I felt sad that she was gone. She seemed like such a sweet and interesting person. Suddenly the old book was ripped from my hands, I looked up into the jade eyes of Louis. He grabbed my shoulders and sighed, almost, out of disappointment. "Listen to me, Child." He said in a dangerously calm voice. "You are to never touch that book again. Do you understand me?" I shakily nodded and Louis placed the book out of my reach. We sat in a tense silence before Lestat called my name. I looked briefly at Louis before dashing off to see what the prince wanted. Chapter 3 As expected Lestat had a new dress for me. "Only the best for our little rosebud." He cooed lovingly. The dress was beautiful. I immediately went to get changed. I looked at my reflection and gasped. Lestat really knew who to pick clothes that made me glow. I placed the mask over my face and smiled revealing pearly white fangs. How could he have known? I hated that people were able to see my face when I fed. I preferred to remain mysterious. I rushed down stairs ready to thank Lestat, but raised voices halted my footsteps. "You will not enchant her like you did Ayin and Claudia!" Louis's voice yelled. "How dare you!" Lestat's angered voice sent shivers down my spine. "I gave Ayin everything, she was all I had! You will not turn Belle against me like you did her!" "I did nothing of the sort, you were the one who-" "Ah Ma Cherie!" Lestat had noticed my presence and walked toward me with open arms. "You are stunning my dear." I ignored the argument I had just heard and smiled up at him. "Thank you Lestat. The dress is beautiful." "Ma Chere, you are a vision." He stood beside me and looked at Louis. "Don't you agree Louis?" Louis smiled at me. "Of course I do. I am the one who created her, after all." We carried on idle chatter, nothing important. But my brain wouldn't let me ignore what I had heard. Was Louis a bad person? Personally I had always liked Louis. He was kind to me. I loved him as though he were my own father. But did he have his dark secrets? I guess everyone does. It pains me to think Lestat does. But he wouldn't be human if he didn't. Then again we aren't human are we. We look like humans, we talk like humans, we act like humans. But we are the farthest thing from them. Chapter 4 I tossed and turned in my coffin. It was one of those days where my gut told me something was wrong. But it was effecting my sleep. I got up and made my way to Louis's room, carefully avoiding the rays of sunlight that came from the cracks in the curtains. Louis's room was dark and warm. "Louis?" I whispered his name so as to not wake Lestat, who slept in the next room. "Louis? Are you awake?" There was no answer. How odd I thought. Louis always answered me, especially when I had trouble sleeping. I looked at his bed and realized he wasn't there. I sighed, realizing I would have to awaken Lestat from his beauty sleep. I tiptoed around the rays of light and entered Lestat's room, only to find him awake and reading by candlelight. "Ma Cherie, whatever is the matter?" I walked timidly over to him. "I-I can't sleep...Louis wasn't there." Lestat smirked a sexy smirk and placed his book down. "Well your always welcome in my room, darling~." I felt my face flush as a walked towards the edge of his bed. He smiled and lifted the covers for me as I climbed in. I slowly laid down as he coaxed me closer to him. It wasn't long till he had me in a tight embrace. "Little Belle." He whispered. "Yes?" There was silence, and then, I felt soft lips connect with mine. Chapter 5 A/N: I'm sorry this is short! I promise the chapters will get longer soon!
My eyes widened and my body tensed before I seemed to completely melt into the kiss. Despite Lestat's sadistic nature the kiss was gentle and full of love. Who knew a creature made to hurt could be so gentle? He pulled away from me with a small gasp and a smile. My face flushed red and I refused to look him in the eye. "Sleep well, little rose." He whispered. Lestat pulled me into his chest and I soon fell asleep. When night broke Louis was nowhere to be found. Lestat woke me with a glass of fresh blood and a big smile. "Ma Cherie, you wouldn't happen to know where Louis is would you?" I shook my head taking a sip of the blood. "No. Has he not returned?" "Returned? Whatever do you mean?" Lestat tilted his head. "He wasn't in his bed yesterday." Lestat grew a look of anger. "That fool!" I tilted my head in confusion. "What's wrong?" Lestat chuckled darkly. "He didn't tell you?" I shook my head. He sat next to me and rubbed my cheek. "Innocent rose." He whispered. "He going to see his brother." I sat there in shock. Louis has a brother? But he never told me. Louis, usually, tells me everything.
